Maury Microwave is pleased to announce the extension of the NanoTM Series (NT-series) automated impedance tuners with the addition of the following models:

  • NT-8G-65G-1C: 8 GHz to 65 GHz
  • NT-8G-65G-1C-C: 8 GHz to 65 GHz includes integrated coupler

The new models cover an extended 8 GHz to 65 GHz frequency range, enabling high-gamma load- or source-pull characterization across a wide spectrum. A typical VSWR of up to 18:1 is achievable at 65 GHz, with a minimum VSWR across the entire frequency range of 10:1. This capability is critical for evaluating performance in varying impedance conditions, including those near the edge of the Smith Chart. With the NT-series tuners, design and test engineers can determine optimized matching conditions to extract noise parameters and maximize output power or power-added efficiency.

The tuners’ compact size simplifies on-wafer probe station integration with a direct probe connection, effectively maximizing VSWR at the DUT reference plane and minimizing phase skew for modulated signals. Patented closed loop feedback motor control enhances measurement accuracy and repeatability.

Additional features and benefits of the NT-series include:

  • Compact, lightweight design optimized for seamless integration with on-wafer probe station
  • Direct connection to probe maximizes tuning range and reduces phase skew
  • Eliminates the need for external probe mounts, cables, and couplers
  • Minimizes transmission line lengths by bringing turning element closer to the DUT
  • Models are available with integrated low-loss, high-directivity coupler
